You should buy a good pair of running shoes and go outside. I know some very good book that can lead you from being a beginner to being able to run the NYC Marathon

Stronger on the cheap
I found this workout that you can do at home on an Italian site and I though it was worth testing it. The first impression was really good: Only four exercises means a workout easy to remember. Moreover, the exercises involve large areas of muscles meaning that in only one session you train all your body with a very hight intensity, burning more calories and wasting less time.
Belive me, it worth a try!!!
The exercises are this:
Push-ups
Pull-ups
One Legged Squat
Crunches
You have to do 8 reps of each exercise in a row (without rest), then you rest for a minute or two and then repeat for a total of 8 sets. At the beginning it won't be easy doing all 8 sets if you are not well trained.
And the best thing is that you don't need any equipment!!! only a Pull-up bar!!!
